BSOD Installing Drivers! (atikmdag.sys BSOD)
So, long story short. I won an auction on eBay for a reference Radeon 7970 that was listed for parts or not working (Showed up in device manager, but wouldn't output video) so, I bidded on it and ended up getting it for about $50. Plan is to use it in my dorm to mine for ETH with some other cards I have (free electricity) or give it to one of my friends.
ANYWAYS. It came, and of course it outputted no video, so I took it apart, cleaned it, reapplied TIM, and then BIOS Flashed it with a BIOS matching my cards specific model number, and now it displays video.
Now here's the frustrating parts. I cannot. install. drivers. I've done multiple DDU's in safemode, rebooting, using different drivers (Even tried using Catalyst drivers) and I get the BSOD atikmdag.sys or system service exception or both when installing the drivers. I've already disabled automatic driver installs for windows 10. What should I try next? I've been trying everything the past few hours.
Flashing an R9 280x Bios fixed it somehow
