Vega 56 crashes in middle power states

I bought a used XFX Vega 56. It works just fine at 100% load and 0% load.

However at medium loads like 500-800mhz core, the whole system freezes with looping audio after about 10min-1hr. The displays connected to the GPU show a random color, while the one connected to onboard video still shows up, but the system is frozen.

Again, at max load the GPU is fine, but at middle power states it crashes.

I have tried going into wattman and setting every voltage level to 1050mv. 1050mv is stable on max load, but it still crashes on light-medium loads.

What can I do about this? The card works perfectly on games like Metro Exodus or any game that uses the core clocks at their max.

MSI AfterBurner is not installed.

EDIT: I should mention on my 1060 3gb I had no issues.

I think I fixed it, I saw this bios revision was the newest and that it supported hynix memory

https://www.techpowerup.com/vgabios/...56-8192-180509

And i flashed it and it stopped crashing with my testing so far.

However new issue that may not be related to this is my system sometime freezes for a second randomly, not totally sure if it is due to this since it seemed to happened a day after I flashed, so I may have installed something.

Ah, memory gets locked to 800mhz when I plug my 3rd monitor in. Attempting to change settings when this happens causes problems. I plugged it into onboard, it seems to be okay so far.

Alright, finally figured out what was causing the issues. It was the memory changing powerstates. If I lock the memory to the highest powerstate in wattman, no crashes.
