AMD Radeon Fury

Hi,

I've just bought an AMD Radeon Fury from Ebay - described as brand new - Reason for purchase is posterity and an historic card from AMD even if it wasn't the best of all time!!!

Its just arrived and I've been checking it over but there seems to be something wrong as the PCI-e connector seems to be missing so there is no way to connect this to a motherboard due to a missing or broken part.

As I'm no expert I thought I'd ask here before I go and seek answers from the seller - Please see photo below.

I'm pretty sure the end of the GPU in the picture is where the PCI-e connector should be. My gut reaction is the connector is either broken or has been removed and there are not any broken fragments in the box on arrival.

A little advice here please then I can seek remedy - Thanks

Broken card

Hi,

Most people are OK and there is no problem because it's a genuine sale - This I feel has been re-listed already by the seller for re-sale.

It's now on its way back to seller for refund.

I buy this card for keeping as it's a bit of an AMD classic card from not too long ago. Please don't laugh too hard when I say it's a classic!!!!

I've got an AMD R9 290X in mint condition on the way. Older card for me to keep and use sometimes.

Right OK lets change subject slightly but on the same theme -

AMD R9 290X 4GB RAM
AMD R9 390X 8GB RAM

AMD R9 FURY HBM 4GB

How much stronger is the Fury Tri X over the R390? - I'm really happy to have one or two older cards providing they can be stored

Anyway just some input on the R9 line that is now gone. I know nVidia is better thats not the question.....Thanks

Naturally this puzzled me but having thought about this what may have happened is someone has removed the PCB / display connections and connected them to a water block to keep and given away / sold to someone else who would hope no one would notice.

I can't think of anything else apart from the card just did not work but why remove all the bits anyway if it was broken and didn't work

Personally if you are going to actually use the card for modern games I'd go with an 8gb 390x.
