The RX 5700 actually has a frequency limit? I swear AMD said it wasn't locked in a Q&A. If so why'd they lie?

So who is going to write up a proper English tutorial for the power limit removal?

Maybe it's just a "bug" for now so more ppl buy the XT model and soon in few weeks it will be "Fixed"?

Also if the AIB models could hit 2.1Ghz -it's going to be good as RTX 2070[S?].
Hope they will stay at $349.

Also we need ATI FLASH to support forcing 50th AE bios on the RX 5700.

Both files compared (50th and ref XT), only 2 tables in the BIOS show differences. One is the PowerPlayInfo Table, which is exactly what we override with our SoftPowerPlay thing. The other is another Data Table, SupportedDevicesInfo. There is a byte increased from 0xC0 to 0xC1, i guess this is just information for the driver.

The changes in the PowerPlay are listed quickly: +50MHz maximum clock rate, voltage remains the same; the power limit has been increased from 180W to 188W, and finally the "FanThrottlingRpm" has also been increased. The End.

So the 50th AE must be binned. If the voltage was adjusted I would call it a factory overclock no binning required. They left that the same and only accounted for the extra power draw from the higher clock speed.

Neato. It took AMD 4 minutes to compile the the 50th Anniversary Edition BIOS from the regular XT BIOS and it has only a single digit increased by one for the version number.

Xt anniversary, stock and auto fans will hit over 2ghz. Stock volts are 1.2 and can increase to 1.3.
So the special edition is binned by the looks of it alright.
