Actually I do see the changes now in wattman. I do experience unusual behavior of wattman following the completion of timespy. When I go back into wattman to make further adjustments it's configuration is messed up. I always have to restart windows to get it back to normal configuration.

That happens when you set something to high. Radeon freaks out to default, hit restart, get a drink and continue lol. On the 5700, tjmax over 89c does not play nice with oced ram, well least when your using 40% power limit if that matters.

In windows, the vbios is only used during the boot up post...once windows starts, control of the GPU is pretty much all passed off to windows via the registry. That is why the soft power play table works. As far as the GDDR 6 timings...Eliovp may or may not add support as he does not have the gpu so he cannot work with it. I am sure I could get better results if he does add the support. But I am still rocking it now with just a soft power play table.

I currently have all the top 3dmark benchmark scores for the my measly 2700x and 5700 XT without bios modding.

Here are some examples:

+rep. Is this safe to use even if im using reference cooler? Still waiting on the block.

Anyways, I used the auto undervolt in Wattman and card boosts higher - 2000MHz in FS. A little less in games. But, the core temp went down 7c. Hotspot went from 95c - 81c.

Guys, I may be getting my Sapphire Pulse RX 5700 XT next week. I've read that 19.8.1 drivers are simply awful. What drivers are you currently using on Navi?

Thanks!

Yes it is safe...as least with just the hellm softpower play tables. However there are 2 tools out there that can create softpowerplay tables that can be unsafe as you have some additional things you can change. Also be very very careful with any cooling mod on the Navi...they are quite fragile. I cracked my original navi with a mod.

I use the EvenMorePower5700XT++ and using the stock cooler on my new 5700 XT Just don't go crazy with with the voltage or power limit...however the worse it will do is be very loud, throttle or just crash when it hits the limits the card can do.
