Gigabyte R9 280X Thermal Pads Thickness

Hello!

Has anyone ever contacted Gigabyte regarding the thickness of the pads on the memory chips? I would like to replace them since the old ones are really dirty and slightly torn apart.

My exact GPU model is GV-R928XOC-3GD-GA, revision 2 I believe. It is the one that came with Battlefield 4 bundled.

As a sidenote, I've noticed that the GPU throttles at inoffensive temperatures when I run Furmark. Is this a normal thing? When playing games, the clock stays at 1100MHz, but in Furmark, it throttles to 1000MHz after a minute or so. (The GPU core temperature reads 70-ish degrees)

Regards,

Dani

Anyone?

Gigabyte support has been completely useless claiming that they are not "allowed" to share such information anymore...

I guess this is the last time I will ever buy a Gigabyte product.

How many years old is r9 280x , and they won't help anyone service them, because then you might not buy a new gpu, jerks

Can't you measure the thickness or guess by eye?

It's somewhere around 1-2mm anyway and the pads are soft. If you can even buy a 1.5mm pad. Get a 2mm and call it a day if it looks to be 2mm thick pads.
