Is there another tool I can use in place of Wattman?

So AB crashes, according to GPU-Z makes my core spike up to over 2600, one instance it made me have to unplug the power on my monitor, it wouldn't turn off. I've never had that happen before. What kind of success have you all been having with the Radeon 5700 and non XT? I'm using MorePowerTools with wattman atm. GPU-Z if I'm expecting a crash and want to log my sensors.

I want to close down Wattman as it resets to default to often and use something else to OC. I'd fiddle with AB more, but it doesn't seem safe.

I use Afterburner for my Radeon VII for the reasons you listed. Are you using Afterburner 4.6.2 beta 2 that added support for the 5700 series? You could also try Sapphire TriXX: https://www.sapphiretech.com/en/software

Thanks I'll check em out, I was on 4.6.1 and for whatever reason it would not show the new beta within AB. And Trixx I must have overlooked it when I first got my card.

They also added a feature called TriXX boost that looks pretty cool that I suggest checking out: https://www.techpowerup.com/review/s...-pulse/33.html

Yeah I saw that , Trixx wasn't supported when I got my card and it seems that's still the case. It won't open. I think it only works with Pulse atm.

Ok AB is still not right. GPU-Z Showed it go up to almost core 2000 peak when I set it to 1900. It only ran 3dmark for a second then had artifacts, I shut it down. It feels dangerously out of wack. AB showed max core clock 1750 on it's sensors. I'll be waiting for Trixx or new Wattman drivers.

Trixx should work on any AMD card, doesn't need to be Sapphire or Pulse I believe. Also sounds like your gpu is boosting over your base clocks, which could be normal. Artifacts are usually too fast VRAM speeds.

Going over boost clock is not normal. AB reporting stock clocks on it's sensors when it's set higher is not normal. AB has serious issues right now with the Radeon 5700 non xt with MorePowerTools or maybe even just by itself. If the core really went to 2600 that's nuts. If it can't handle the core clock what else is it messing up? I've been using this card for about a month I've never seen it go beyond boost like that with wattman. If someone else wants to test it out feel free, but I wouldn't.

I added a frequency tab to MPT. You can now edit min/max clock rate for GFX and SoC, and the 4 discrete memory DPM levels. Hope this helps.
