BREAKDOWN Gamer Nexus and Igor show us the XT, here are some non XT pics. And the small differences I noticed along the way.
1. On opening the Non XT, there are also 6 screws on sides.
2. (4th pick down tiny circles atm) It looks like they included some thermal pads that do not seemingly match\touch any components. At least one extra pad exists in a spot where the XT has a extra memory chip? Not 100% on the terminology. I circled in green the extra memory chip thermal pad in green. The red circle is just kind of a random tiny thermal pad, idk why it's there or if it makes contact.
So next we have the removal of the Vapor Chamber\Heatsink. Just like GamerNexus, I used a screw driver. I found a convenient spot on the back with a gap in it. However it did result in a slightly bent chamber. Note that the heat sink fins can be easily bent if you squeeze them or knick em with your screw driver.
50 GALLON TOTE CPU WATER BLOCK ON GPU (Yes I know tap water is bad, my water block is only 20$ and can be cleaned will monitor, this is for fun)
So far I zipped up my CPU water block, quite literally and put some old CPU fans on the rest of the card. I still have some thermal pads to take off. The holes on the video card are to small for the bolts that came with the water block and of course they don't exactly line up. My mounting pressure might be a bit uneven, but it works for now. Regardless this is my rough draft. Will update with way more info later. But I can safely say after 8 hours of benchmarking\browsing\tinkering the water has not changed temp. I'll likely incorporate the video card plate and maybe the vapor chamber at some point. It's only about 40 gal atm. Pumps maybe .5 gpm, that will improve. No that's not a quarter it's a cd at the bottom of that tote . Day 1 bench,
