Yeah, the next gen cards have me worried I might of jumped the gun / excited as well although it is all hype until it is for sale.

If you really want a good budget option then pick up a used vega, they go for around $200 on ebay but you can find them cheaper if you really search. I got a Vega 56 for a family member recently for $175, it works pretty good after some manual tuning / overclocking. only around 10-15% worse performance then the 5700 but of course it uses more power fully loaded.

Interestingly though, it actually seems to use less power under all but the most demanding conditions. It is power hungry when pushed but actually quite nice when not working to the max (such as hitting the 144fps cap in games)

It is also much more efficient in windows using only ~6w to my 5700's ~27w. The inability to have multiple monitors without leaving the low power state on modern video cards is crazy to me, Vega can stay in low power, why not the 5700?

Screw the latest 2020 AMD drivers, I tried them but switched back to the 2019 drivers. The 2019 drivers are fine, I have no real issues with them and the only things I miss from the 2020 drivers are the image sharpening adjustment really. Otherwise the 2019 drivers are just better.

I like the histogram on the 2019 drivers for each game, very handy for checking things after a crash or when you are tweaking overclock settings.

Getting my 5700xt RAW II to where I want it has been a pain as I've been getting random lock ups (with a static noise) that require a hard reboot. Anyone have this issue and found a fix?

Currently running it underclocked with mem at stock.

You can't preview an empty signature body.

I had the same problems. When i had oced the card at 2150mhz core 1.2v and mem max out to 1900mhz.Random black screens while gaming etc.I lower my memory clock to 1850mhz latest AMD drivers and now everything is fine.I tested with MSI kombustor 11 hours burn test all rock stable. In my case max memory OC was the issue. My current working OC is 2150mhz on AMD driver 1.160V and 1850mhz on memory.

My 5700 Red Dragon runs very well at 1440p even on my 144hz monitor. I flashed one of the two BIOS' to a 5700XT Red Dragon and play Ghost Recon:Breakpoint at 1440p ultra settings, 60-70fps. Even though the game's a hot steaming pile of a mess, it IS a visually lush open world game that's uber-demanding. To be fair though, it is a lot better now with the 1.1 update.

I also run the 20.2.1 drivers in a 'driver only' install, using Afterburner to control overclocks/undervolts. I feel under-volting alone is best even though you don't get much with the BIOS flash. Have to remember there was a reason the chip was binned down.

I copped a MSI 5700 xt gaming x. It runs great except for BL3. Crashes real quick. Ugh.
