Defective or normal

I just bought the RX 5700XT Mech OC by MSI. I'm not sure if it's defective or normal behavior for this card. It runs extremely hot, fans get really loud and depending on the game it will crash. I was playing SekiRo and 5 minutes into the game, it crashes and I lose video. Any fix for this?

Thanks. I was going to get the Sapphire Pulse, but got this MSI instead. It was $30 cheaper.

I know XFX has acknowledged issues with that card and offered to remedy it for those affected. I also know ASUS has not offered any support for their entry models. I'm not sure about MSI unfortunately.

I had to add 5% power with Afterburner just to run games.

It kept crashing.

I would recommend deleting everything except aticlxx

then use Afterburner and add 5% power. That worked for me.

Where is that file located? I just installed Afterburner. Increased power limit to 5.

I decided to return it. Just way too loud and hot. Probably got a bad one out of the batch. Thanks for the suggestions.

AMD\CNext

I took everything out but the file he mentions above, it really fixed my OC issues. I wiped it on x86 and regular program files. Had to use task manager to close down anything holding my delete button at bay.

Also in a unrelated note, for whatever reason, AMD was also keeping a copy of every driver installer since I bought the card.... Almost 40 gigs?

I'm on the 2020 edition driver that has War 3 reforged support.
