AMD's Brutally honest upgrade advisor

My flagship 5700XT gets a yellow exclamation point for RDR2 so where do I go from here?

Advisor? I don't get such on both my navi.

EDIT: I see it under Performance>Advisor. I'll just disregard it and based your decision on your gameplay and budget.

By Built-in Benchmark Queen:
My 2.5 years old delidded 7980xe @ 4600mhz all core with 49ns memorylatency (4000c16 twekaed) is faster than 3950x max overclocked on water in every scenario. Pretty good for a ancient cpu
In gaming it has no chance vs my new 10900k @ 5400mhz and 4600c16 tweaked memory. ~35ns memorylatency.

maybe just maybe AMD is classifying the RVII still as their flagship, so there fore you get that pointmark. I had the RVII and REPLACED IT with a 5700xt as the performance (in games) is the same and sometimes better using 1/2 the power.

It's possible they have updated it or changing it to be ready for impending release of something also.

If you have the Radeon VII keep it and if you have the 5700XT keep it. newls1 has experience with both.

I purchased a Radeon VII when it was first released but later would have purchased a 5700XT had it been appreciably faster.

I wanted an all AMD high end rig so I went 3900x/RadVII.

From what I read, Big Navi probably won't drop till late in the year.

I do not put much stock in the upgrade advisor.

big navi, clearly. which isn't out yet.

AMD's taking a page from NVidia. Making their customers envious of something they don't have, after they've already spent the money, via a little piece of bogus software.

Only at stock the Radeon VII UV/OC crushes the 5700 XT UV/OC. The RX Vega 64 OC/UV keeps up with the 5700XT probably even outperforms it at 1750Mhz sustained.

Yeah, my Vega 64 performed the same or better than my 5700 XT with a waterblock, liquid bios, and registry edit. It also used about the same amount of power. Oh well, my Kingpin RMA should be arriving soon and I can return the 5700 XT.
