You're completely right, I noticed some instability issues popping up so I played around with the memory clock and it seems that 2200mhz is more stable than 2150mhz. Been playing Skyrim/Dawnguard (Heavily Modded) and BF3 all day and not once have I had heat issues/artifacting. Time is the real test though.
