I thought some people may be interested in seeing some nvidia engineering samples. I have attached a couple of crap pictures of some cards I had laying around. Hope the mods don't mind this sort of thing.

2/5/13- Added 8800M GTS & 2 new shots of GTX260 A1 heatsink

GTX480 A2 silicon
A2 was never released to the public due to reports of heat problems

GTX260 65nm A1 silicon

Fav shot of heatsink

vs. production heatsink

Card is not very stable rolleyes.gif

GTX280 55nm/ 285 prototype

9800gt

8600M GS mobile proc test board

Spaghetti

8800M GTS mobile proc test board
The DIP switches control the dev id of the card. You can change the dev id of the card to other models that used g92 proc

Some caps have been reworked

Running

280GTX 55nm A1
By far my favorite card, early A1 sample w/ green PCB and an engineering tag!

More cards to come soon when I have time. Any requests?

Were on earth did you get these?

Also I would love to see some GTX295 prototypes as I can imagine they had some crazy designs for that coal factory of a GPU.... hot yet powerful.

What to know some great PSU's?

Indeed, very interesting and cool. Do these cards have any significant differences from their mainstream versions?

Yes, for example note that my 9800gt ES does not have any external power connectors, whereas production versions have +6pin atx. Also, the gtx480 was released with A3 version silicon, the ES shown here has A2 silicon. The 8600M is a mobile GPU mounted onto a board that can be used for testing purposes in desktops. It has pins for measuring vGPU, vMem, etc mounted on the card already for testing
