Hey, can you post the exact model of your laptop? Custom BIOSes are available for some models of laptop, but not many.

Flashing the VBIOS of a laptop is harder to do than on a desktop, as it is tied into the motherboard's BIOS. This basically means you can't get a .ROM file of your VBIOS through GPU-Z and you can't use NVFlash to flash a modded version like you would on a desktop.

Any modding has to be done through editing the laptop's stock BIOS file, and then has to be flashed in DOS or some other way that can be specific to the laptop. Unless you know what you're doing, I wouldn't try to edit one yourself. For certain laptops though, there are modded BIOSes available online. So let's start with what laptop you have smile.gif

Hey, look what I found: http://forum.notebookreview.com/threads/msi-ge60-ge70-gpu-unlock-vbios-mod.770102/

Looks like for your particular laptop, what I said was wrong - the GPU VBIOS is separate from the motherboard's BIOS, so you can read it with GPU-Z to get your VBIOS, use Kepler Bios Tweaker to edit it, then flash it with NVFlash (looks like you have to do it in DOS).

There are tutorials on how to use all of these things here on OCN and also around the Internet, I've modded Kepler BIOSes a fair amount, so I can help you out if you have any questions about editing the VBIOS or anything else.

In other words, looks like you're good to go. smile.gif

Before you do anything based off of info I give you, here's a little disclaimer. This is information I know primarily from desktop GPUs. I am fairly certain that this will work for you, but I can't be sure as I can't test it myself. If something goes wrong, I'll try my best to help you out, but it's your choice to do this or not. Flashing can brick your graphics card, and it can be very difficult to get it functional again.

Alright, lets start with clockspeed. You should be able to raise your clockspeed by increasing the TDP base clock and the Boost Clock. For simplicity's sake you can make these the same like this:

When you press save it will change the greyed out value to the same speed as well.

Set it to what you want, I would set it 135mhz higher than whatever clockspeed you can get now with the slider all the way (by the looks of it, 135MHz higher than 719?). That way you can be sure it will work and that you haven't gone too far.

You'll also want to change the boost table so the value in green is the clockspeed you want the card to run at, like this:

Hmm.. You could try a different USB stick, otherwise just make sure you've tried all the options for USB in the BIOS, sometimes it comes up twice.

If nothing works, take a screenshot of your settings for rufus and we'll mess around with that
