People just gotta remember - one beefier card always wins against two mid range cards (specially when the beefier card has higher memory bus!!!!) UNLESS!?!?! anyone remember?! you're gaming in resolutions low enough to not max out the memory bandwidth, as memory bandwidth doesn't scale as most expect it to, in SLI.

it's a funny time right now though, 20 series sucks & many of us are experienced that first hand, thus the only other thing to do is slap on an extra 1080ti for the one outta ten times its gonna work well.

as I stated in the beginning of all of this like 2 weeks ago - I'm not trading in my 2nd card until I see how it fares on my 3440x1440p alienware next month. That however won't change the fact 1 in 10 games support SLI, and that its a dead technology being replaced by NVLink. The more DX12 titles we see, the less SLI titles we'll see, until they get that part all ironed out, which may take a couple more years & we currently get maybe 1 outta 20 with native support, n can maybe get 1 in 5 to work with tweaked support.
The person I spoke with in steam claims 130~150 FPS minimums in every title I spoke about above with SLI'd 1080 Ti's, and claims to me zero stuttering, micro-stuttering or any other issues. So it definitely will do everything I want. However one other variable I wanted to add. Both Me and this other person I spoke with use windows 7 64-bit. I'm guessing you're using windows 10? Perhaps that may have something to do with the performance in general? I've heard Windows 10 tries to force some stupid "game mode" on users or something. DirectX-12 doesn't actually support SLI, but Vulcan has everything DX12 does graphics wise and fully supports SLI and CrossFire. DX12 games are proprietary, OS-Dependent (requires windows 10 and Microsoft store) and run in microsoft's little walled garden. I'm very hopeful myself that more games will embrace Vulcan. Both for SLI support and Multi-OS support.

130-50 in... 1440p, sure completely reasonable, and 200-240 all day in 1080p.

as to the OS, that's an interesting variable. I may have to spin up a dual boot & test. I remember what you're talking about, n thought it was resolved years ago.

Like I said though, I'm incredibly sensitive. My friends can play titles with v-sync off & state to not see anything but "slight tearing" I turn v-sync off, n my head explodes.

MHW 4k or 1440p(prefered) in sli is working great for me and im really sensitive to stutter/flicker.
And i dont have the fastest CPU or so. 5930K 4.5Ghz 32Gig 3200Mhz tight timings

Testet MHW an PS4 and PC at the same time(sister played on PS4)
PC was way smoother

can you please post a screenshot of your GPU usage in 4K w/ sli on?

I'd truly appreciate it, & look REP is back !

I've been running single GPU 1440p maxed, res pref, or 4K low via one card due to hitching issues in 4K on ultra. (they look about the same its hard to choose between the two besides 1440p running slightly faster)

Let's not get it twisted. I've been SLI gaming for 10 years & that's not gonna change. I just throw in the towel much sooner than I used to when it comes to rigging functionality. Before all the minutia mashing that went on, my main point is that getting SLI to work is a pain in the ass & usually comes with a catch. Very few engines truly do NOT support the tech, the rest are just victims of penny pinching or lazy devs. I 100% agree SLI should be mandatory on NV branded games, and I've believed this since NV purchased the technology. I believe it even more now that AMD has cornered the console market. NV needs a way to shine apart from consoles. It's almost like they've forgotten there's crazy folks out there like me that'll buy 2-4 flag ships, along with 3x 8k screens then strap it to a sim pit for the most epic in-home gaming experience possible.

....so for now, I dream on to Dx12 + NVlink maturation... Like we've been doing since the first Titan. DX11 is a dinosaur. It needs to sink into the tar pits faster.

this is true, some games handle it better than others.

Most recent game I can think of where I can play w/ v-sync off no issues is PUBG. I ONLY see a latency difference in that title. Most recent MUST have V-sync on title is any Cryengine branched title. Far Cry, Metro,

edit - i did a sanity check & yeah, I get full second GPU usage & almost no 1st GPU usage. W, inspector i get that classic 50/50 split. ?(MHW)

Good news is the first of my 2TB NVMe cards is on the way, so I think I'll play with Win7 on that until all 4x 2tb drives show, which I'm slowly ordering over the next couple checks. That + the addition of the Dell:AW 3440x1440p 120hz monitor, and i'm DONE until 4 series. (they're going in the asus 4xNVMe 16x card)

I've had some weird issues lately like MH:W only working after a restart, & windows not wanting to boot from anything but 2 specific ports on my bottom card = I think my old SATA SSD raid is dying. MH:W even continues to do the weird restart requirement after a full removal & re-install.

weirdly, all SSDs report 100% health after all these years..

Soo i used this setting from here:
https://steamcommunity.com/app/58201...4817442794507/
(used DSR for 4k, because i have only 1440P panel)

runs lagfree. No stutter, but 1440P gives better fps, so no 4k for me xD

thank you sir, and that's on twin 1080ti's in win10... with what driver, & are you forcing Inspector? everything else looks identical. OC, volts, cpu.

I think I'm also gonna push these over two a new bios. I've never NEEDED to do that for any specific reason other than more consistent OC though.

slightly off topic... I've been trying to slay kirin for the second time but keep eating feces in these pugs... So if anyone wants to help tonight I went to the extent of getting full xeno + lightning runes, so she only really tickles me now, but folks who show up naked get nuked.

driver is 425.31(wantet test raytracing. nice stuff^^) and changed the profile with the inspector like in the thread i posted.

I can post you the settings i used in the inspector and ingame settings if you want

OT: dont really play MWH anymore. was "just for fun" that i bought it for the PC, after i played it dead on the PS4, because i hate consol controller and aiming with that. Worst gameplay^^

The only weapon I like controller for is glaive, and that's cuz you can just hit auto-target & fly around for 30 seconds at a time, avoiding 90% of damage on 90% of mobs. Kirin & Kush are my only trouble mobs w/ glaive - so now I'm gonna level some sorta ranged... probably bow. This is actually my first Monster Hunter title due to my near life long PC usage over consoles. Me & consoles existed in an era where they were more likely to end up in pawnshops than entertainment cabinets.

I'm not too curious about in-game settings, I've gotta pretty good handle on those...

I'll look back to your post, I must have missed it.

one 1080ti can only do 4k+4k textures on low

Edit :

I noticed something today - I'm not on 1809, or even 1803... I wonder why I've broken off of the update pathing.

anywhoo, maybe this will fix some of this extra sli weirdness i'm getting. I'd love to be able to actually force decent support again

so things are running much better on 1809, but that sli profile gives me extreme artifacting
it worked for like 5 minutes then things went belly up, so up on the list for tomorrow is a driver flush.

i hopped into Deus Ex for a sanity check, both cards are working fine while pegged @ 99.99999% usage in 4K + MSAA with no graphical errors.
