Yeah I have the Kingpin Fix bios, that's what I meant when I said Kingpin bios. But on the EVGA forums it seemed like people were mostly using it on my cards when it had power limit issues they couldn't fix, that I've never had (stuck at 117% even on the slave bios)
Regarding XOC bios, point noted, I have actually been considering selling some retro games I don't play and other stuff to put together a full loop. However, since my cards are custom it seems the only blocks available are EK nickel full cover and they are still selling for $160 a piece. I dont want to spend money watercooling cards that will probably be replaced in 2-3 years, and are almost 3 years old anyway.
But yeah I'm already hitting 70c or so on the top card and 55c on the bottom with both at 127% power limit/90c temp limit/no additional voltage- 2025/5899MHz in Valley, Heaven, Superposition, Fire Strike Ultra, etc. benches. With all of my case fans on full blast, both card fans at 100% and my front and top fan filters off and side panel off.
So you're right it is probably dangerous and will add too much heat under benching loads, especially if I am able to run higher frequency on the core, which will add heat as well. Even with my new CPU/board/RAM setup I've tested my rig with a Kill-a-watt meter and I'm only pulling 850w at the wall max (In Fire Strike Ultra combined test looped), my power supply does it no problem- but heat is the issue. Especially since my cooling is less than adequate for the CPU as well, which runs around 80C under full load
Alright then. I won't attempt to flash them or run them at higher core, (since it crashes anyway), and will continue to work on my CPU and memory OC (especially timings) since RAM makes a huge difference on Ryzen 3000, and see if I can get some more fps in Heaven that way. Thanks
