just installed mine as well, what kind of temps should we be expecting with the ftw3. Is everyone leaving their fans on auto?

Mine seems to target 72C at which point it ramps the VRM fan to 1700RPM. The reviews so far with 61C temps make zero sense.

It's usually north of 68C depending on game.

The core 500 was about the smallest case i felt comfortable putting a 1080TI in.

Also I'm just not happy with having to use Precision X. Overall just not satisfied with this card and I'm gonna sell it and keep the STRIX unless I can mount a G12 to it without a shim.

Have you tried reapplying the thermal paste? You can do it without voiding the warranty thankfully. Sounds like poor contact between the GPU die and the cooler's heatsink. Those temperatures just sound off when compared with the reviews.

How are you other people finding noise? Relatively silent or hair-drier? tongue.gif I have a friend who is getting this card in a few days, will see how it performs then.

A card in the running in the 72 degree range is self defeating
The more heat the less hold on overclock step
My FTW never cracks 55% thus it holds a 2050 overclock while stress benching in 4K
This is not magic but just how the GPU responds to heat it downclocks
AngryLobster what are you going for quite?
More than happy to help you but more details needed like GPU settings using ,computer profile or bench scores
Make sure its on slave mode

Slave modes aggressive fan profile is just too loud for me. I really don't care about anything above 1900-1950mhz because the in game performance increase is like 1FPS and I gain more from just adding 300-400 memory OC. For that reason I undervolt it to 1900 @ 0.931v to make the noise manageable. With that same undervolt my STRIX sits at 1200-1300RPM and is borderline inaudible.

I donated this card to my brother who is gonna sell off his 1070 as the STRIX is just better for my needs.

Notice the scratches on the do not remove warranty sticker under the removable protective plastic
Apparently they all come that way
