I reformatted Windows and still having random freezes during gaming. I'm starting to think the GPU is dying. What are some signs that the GPU is dying? I have an MSI GTX 1070 btw.

Instead of assuming the GPU is dying, let's first see if we can figure out what's causing this.

I remember you asking about a new PSU a few weeks ago, and your choices were excellent. Did you get one? Or do you have a low-quality generic PSU?

Does the game freeze, the OS or driver crash, or is there just a long pause in the game?

Yes, I got the Seasonic Focus Plus 650W Gold PSU. The game still freezes for a few seconds with the new PSU. I performed a clean windows install because I thought it was drive related and it's still doing it.

With my last card that was dying I kept getting weird artifacting on my screen, and my display kept refreshing at random. To troubleshoot I pulled the card and threw in an older card and the issues were gone. If by chance you have an older card laying around swap it out and see if the issues persist.

Adjust GPU clocks for core and memory down by a significant amount and see if it still happens.

HP-UX. I came, I saw, I was sad it would not run on my X86 box.
