EVGA RMA requires original heatsink?

I've just installed 2 EVGA 1080 TI FTW3's with water blocks and I'm wondering if I need to hang on to the original HSF's in case I need to do an RMA. Does EVGA require the card be sent in with the original HSF?

Hi,
Just adding a water block gives evga reason to reject the rma seeing the sticker on the back plate is gone or not original shape
They can always insist on static electric damages but with their new external visual inspection rejection policies you can expect a fight lol

Interesting. I had heard that EVGA doesn't reject RMA for watercoolers which is why most watercoolers go with them.

EVGA is getting more strict on their RMAs.... I had one rejected for a little scratch on the cooler.

Keep the original cooler to put back on the card if needed to send back, watercooling is covered, just needs to be returned with the original cooler.

I still remember when evga would have extra fan shrouds for GPU's on hand. If a customer damaged one, evga would sell them a new one, to keep the warranty intact. Now they look for the slightest blemish to not honor the warranty.

Yeah it sucks, and now they've killed guest RMAs, killing any reason to buy a used EVGA card. So no more resale value.....

I won't be buying any more EVGA.
