Also got myself a MSI RTX 2070 Armor.
Flashed the Gigabyte 240W TDP bios, replaced thermal paste with Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut and installed a Kraken G10 (w/ Noctua NF-A9) + Kraken X41.

Runs at 2100 MHz (2130 MHz in Time Spy)

GPU-Z

Idle temperature

After 30 mins of gaming

Time Spy 10371 graphics score

@m0nsky : That‘s great! Did you take some pictures? What maximum temps did you watch? Why Kraken X41 when there is a newer model X42?

Would you consider to write a small review on your mod?

So are the beefy OCed 2070 "A" model PCBs closer to a regular 2080 PCB than the stock 2070s ? If 2080 has 2GB more vram, I guess that might change stuff, but I mean the overall quality of the VRM and everything in general. They do cost a quite a bit after all. I got a nice deal on mine.

If I was crazy and wanted to flash the BIOS, what would I need and have to do ? IDK if my card has ever got to 70C, and the most common high OC is 1935MHz, and it briefly goes to 1950MHz, IDK if it ever goes higher. The Mircon VRAM is 7200MHz in games, always. I don't want SPACE INVADERS. I can't afford to break this thing. Can u reset BIOS afterwards if u want ?, Or is actually writing over the original on the chip ? I should know this.

STRIX OC or some such top end ASUS model, 270W maxed out. Gaming Z and maybe some other 250W. That low end Gigabyte with 240W for non-A.
You probably already have the highest power limit card sold.

Scoty: what's that 270W STRIX of yours reporting as power used when running fully loaded in say Heaven or I don't know Q2VKPT, new Metro, something demanding that has RT?
In review even 250W Gaming Z was bouncing the limiter...
With no power limiting the card should stay fairly locked to 1 voltage and 1 clock, only changing due to temperature variance.

---

I use MSI AB for an MSI card, everything works fine except OC scanner beta rubbish crashes on launch of the gpu stressor no matter what. There is something wrong with it. Maybe, one day, they will finally make the OC scanner version non-beta, stable and working.

Some cards will run 2100MHz when cooled, mine likes to spike there too or even 2115MHz in logging, depending on load 1950-2050MHz, Apex Legends running often on 144fps limiter or Asetto Corsa with CPU starved engine the GPU has space to clock up and average over 2000MHz on 200W power limit and no mods. When power limited and fully loaded it runs between 1950-2000MHz. This is with 1820MHz set boost clock.

Hello guys, my little story.
I got Gigabyte GeForce RTX 2070 WINDFORCE [GV-N2070WF3-8GC]. Overclocked to 1920-2050mhz, 16000mhz memory, max temp 70c.
Today i exchange Gigabyte to MSI GeForce RTX 2070 ARMOR OC [RTX 2070 ARMOR 8G OC], i flash Asus Strix bios to not have power limit. So i got 2050-2100mhz, and 15900mhz memory, max temp 55c now.
Sad i can't get more than 2100, no temp problem, no power limit problem. Any solution to reach more?

You mean 55C on max fan speed while pulling 250-270W?

Extreme cooling or buy a binned chip card. Same way XOCers get binned hardware that they further bin.

Apex Legends:

My own testing with 4690K 4.6/4.2GHz, 2.4GHz CL11 16GB DDR3, RTX2070 1820MHz boost (~2000MHz live clock) 15.8GHz VRAM, 246.42min of recording = 4.11 hours all from when jump down counter goes 0 usually to when I die sometimes with watching enemy play. Each run weighted based on it's time, shortest 477s longest 1362s.

Code:
2560x1440px

    Average Min Max 1% 0.1%
fps 158.02 83.56 377.52 90.00 77.36
No AA, no AO, no volumetric light, rest is maxed out except a couple settings. Adaptive FPS targeting and TSAA upsampling disabled.

Can't say I've noticed a difference compared to default 144fps max limit. CPU can max out in monitoring sometimes but GPU load never goes down at the same time if ever.

How does MSI AB measure 0.1%, 1% and minimum who the heck knows, I certainly wouldn't say that 0.1% is lower than minimum, no idea how the heck they have it defined.
