Here's a quick compare from my son's PC in 3dmark
2070 vs 2070S keep in mind the Super is very power limited with stock BIOS and cannot keep even 2Ghz during load, no matter of the offset set/

Just to be clear, was there a mistake in the identification of the cpu during the earlier testing or were two different cpu's also used? The test with the plain 2070 in January shows an i5-9600k while the latest test with the 2070 Super shows an i7-8700k.

No there's no mistake, the CPU was changed meanwhile. You can see the difference only in Game Tests and GPU score. In Superposition the difference is greater 6k total to 7k total while both OCed => 16.6% . Where in TS is only 9.4% - https://www.3dmark.com/compare/spy/7892729/spy/6403921

Just did better results, but it seems heavily Power limited, tested a couple of BIOSes all behave the same way. Lowering to sub 2Ghz and 1V ...very strange the temps are not that bad in sub 70* area

Very odd.....IDK man....
Looks like it was an Afterburner issue after all, the beta 2 version of it that released today fixed the issue.
Voltage shows normally on it now

hello friends,

I recently bought a STRIX 2070 SUPER Advanced Overclocked (RTX2070S-A8G-GAMING) https://www.newegg.ca/geforce-rtx-20...82E16814126330

this is an equiv of an non-A board right? https://puu.sh/DXeER/d83560cc66.png https://puu.sh/DXeFQ/f0fea60e41.png https://puu.sh/DXeMv/98c367616f.png (TU104-B?)

For some reason this card model not recognized by gpuz yet. And voltage editor in afterburner grayed out also (even on the 4.6.2 beta 2). Voltage slider works in gpu tweak thing though.

Overclocks okay, can hold core clocks 2040-2055 on 1.043V or something while gaming. memory easily @ 2000MHz. Core clocks 2020-2040 while doing a time spy run. During time spy can reach ~250-260 watts.

Is there currently any bios that i could flash to increase the power limit? This card is on this bios version https://www.techpowerup.com/vgabios/212505/212505

Feel like the card could do much more. Doesn't even ever hit over 60c @ 70% fans. Few other card's bios can see that they got 300w+ limits :<

Tested all BIOSes available on my son's 2070s and there was no change in Throttling...suspecting some HW parts are providing this limits whatever i do temps and voltage frequency are dropping below 2000Mhz and 1v in 3dmark TimeSpy triggering either power limit or voltage limit depending what settings i'm putting. This is on MSI Ventus OC board.
2025Mhz could be stable in lighter benches :

Thanks for your infos. I saw the 2070 super asus strix and evga ftw 3 had good 300watt+ limits, however somehow these ones (https://www.newegg.com/geforce-rtx-2...-330-_-Product) they selling which i got are deceptive. These have weird bios and 260watt max. Like the FEs.

Feelsbad. *Hopefully* sometime there might be a bios that i can flash to increase the power limit

Lol turns out the site i ordered an MSI Gaming Trio X from had an error on their page so the card i ordered was sold out and was out of stock despite the fact that they have of them 10 in stock
Called and asked what was up with that and they found they had an error in their system and the same card was listed twice with two different prices

The one i ordered was cheaper than the ones they had in stock but they gave me the card for the lower price so i just saved $57,5 US
