Right, and the preorder thing...here is how these little schemes play out.
1) Create hype
2) No objective data, open for a limited time only, superselect, no=guarantee-that-you-may-get-one,preorder. 3) Release a tiny amount of cards to a few people, roughly leaving 90% or more preorders unfilled
4) Release an appologee Re:yields being low, hard to get quality as high as needed, embargo from a foreign nation, etc.
5) Announce that preorders will be released in a tiered approach, creating more hype and uncertainty
Hate to say told you so, but the delay is a std move in business school/marketing books
For those getting the Evga version which one are you going with? Are you getting the 2 or 3 slot version? Trying to figure out if either one makes a difference as far as cooling when no/slight overclock is done.
pre-ordered mine from newegg, anyone seen any movement over there or heard anything on when they'll ship?
I pre ordered the Evga one just in case the reviews surprised me. Probably going to cancel mine but i just got this email from Newegg saying.
We have been informed that we will not be receiving our inventory of the NVIDIA RTX 2080 video cards as anticipated on September 20th, 2018. The release has been delayed until September 27th, 2018. You are welcome to keep your existing pre-order and it will be processed and shipped once we receive inventory, or you can instead choose to cancel your pre-order within your Newegg Account's Order History.
