I am just asking for some feedback and experiences. Weirdly I can't find that much on the internet and I don't know if that card has some "known issues".
From thermals it seems like a good card. How are VRAM thermals?
The other card I am looking at would be the ZOTAC GAMING GeForce RTX 2080 Twin Fan, but I feel like the EVGA XC Ultra is worth the (in my case) 50€ upgrade.
Weirdly those 2 are on sale right now for an acceptable price, but I am not sure if it is worth waiting for the SUPER announcement. Bit of an unfortunate timing for me here
EVGA has had some issues with previous generations like the VRM thermal pad debacle but that is not an issue on these cards so far.
VRM cooling is plenty as you can't really overvolt anyway past 1,093v which even reference VRM can handle.
Shame Guru3D didn't do the XC as they do thermal imaging of VRM and such so I don't know exact temps but the card itself runs very quiet and cool according to Hexus's review of the card. (71c max load on a super low amount of dB).
As for the Zotac, the AMP! Cards are always very high quality but this "budget" card? No reviews to be found and they aren't sold here in my country so I dunno much about it..
There's always the option of buying the EVGA CLC AIO kit for the card if you don't like it. Won't even mess with warranty.
My own MSI Gaming X Trio is MILES ahead of the Aorus Xtreme I had. This one has Samsung and the VRAM does 8200 with ease and I'm now testing 8300. 8400 worked for a while only to crash in a green and pink screen after 30 minutes of Metro Exodus.
Core, runs 2100-2085 depending on temps on custom curve OC on 1.093v.
Fan is set to 40% idle and ramping up to 70% @ 60c. Hottest I've seen it get is 57c with 25c ambient.
Only wierd thing is, I HAD to repaste / remount it. Stock temps were horrible. 75-80c on auto fan and 70+ on 80%. Remounted it with Prolimatech PK-3 and temps went down massively.
