So I finally got around to putting a waterblock on my 2080 now that I have missed my step up period(just couldn't justify/afford the price jump to the TI). Absolute cheapest card on the market, a blower style from EVGA. It is a non-A chip with Micron memory. Final overclock results are 1980/7950 with my curve cap set to [email protected] to avoid the very low power limit of +11%. I am happy with it for now, but would love to see the power limit removed/increased.

Love these old EK supremacy GPU blocks, and I love the fact that I have been able to use them for multiple generations without any specialized plates or modifications. Temps top out at 45C after power virus load.

Are you going to mod the shroud to fit with the fittings and hoses? I did that a few times in the FE coolers for a 780Ti and 980Ti running an Accelero hybrid AIO.

Looked pretty sweet and the VRM got plenty of cooling from the stock fan.

Cars:
-Crashed: (not my fault ) '94 Nissan 100NX GA16DE (a.k.a. NX1600). Renault Laguna Phase I facelift '99 1.6 K4M. (Broke a strut and smacked a tree).
-Sold: '00 Nissan Primera P11-144 QG18DE, '97 Honda Prelude F20A4.
-Current: '03 Suzuki Ignis Sport 1.5 M15A & '03 Peugeot 206CC 2.0 RFN fully riced.

No, I am not going to mod the shroud. It wont really give me any cooling advantage worth noting, and it will make it hard to resell.

Gigabyte extreme £517 on amazon through a reseller, not sure how legit they are though they have hundreds of sales with positive feedback. Willing to spin the wheel for £200 saving on this card, insane value if it's real. Comes out cheaper than a 2070S, ordered one.

Should we add supers to this thread like the 2060 and 2070 thread? Ordered an EVGA 2080S XC Hybrid Gaming. Got tired of playing BFV on medium settings. This will be my first Hybrid card as well.

I know this question probably has been beaten to the ground but you guys think the EVGA 2080 ftw3 is an okay pickup at this point in the game for $699...?

Seems like a pretty bad idea at this point. You could spend a bit more and get a decent 2080S

Depends. The 2080 super is 5-10% faster, so if the non super is more than 5-10% cheaper than the super, then the 2080 is the better deal. But then again, none of the lineup is a good deal right now, so just get the best graphics card your money can buy.

So I've never had an EVGA card before. Does anyone know what the major difference between the XC Hybrid Gaming and the FTW3 Hybrid Gaming is? XC is 6+8 and FTW3 is 8+8. Does that mean the FTW3 has a higher power limit?

Gainward rtx 2080 nvflash ID mismatch. Help!

Hello,

I have a problem when I try to change the bios in nvflash. My card is the basic rtx 2080 reference pcb with +111 power limit, I'm trying to put another bios from Gainward phoenix GS(reference pcb and same cooling but better power limit) and any time i tried, is allways failing. ID mismatch. I've tried diferent nvflash versions, even the patched one for the mismatch error but is allways the same.

The commands i'm using are:

nvflash64 --protectoff

nvflash64 -6 rom.rom

nvflash64 --index 0 -6 rom.rom

nvflash64 --overridesub rom.rom

nothing works for me. ¿Am I doing something wrong?
