I need some help guys.

I've installed the LOTAN gpu block on my MSI 2080TI lightning Z. It's not my first time. Eveything went smoothly.

And now the gpu is stuck at 1350 MHZ... I haven't touch the vbios, haven't shunt modded, only installed the block. Temps are good.

Ive tried :

-reinstalling drivers
-LN2 bios switch
-reflashing the same original vbios
-reinstalling Windows

I've noticed in MSI afterburner the Power limit slider is greyed out also now.

Anyone has any idea of what might have happened and/or solution?

thanks, feeling a bit desperate here

...check this thread + specific post in the spoiler, potentially a mounting pressure issue per description of the specific change you made

If all else fail it is RMA time.... Had a similar issue got it fixed, don't ask how and then it went all pair shaped after driver update and now I got a new different card.

I switched back to the air cooler and it's working, I switch back to the waterblock without overscrewing it and it goes back to 1350 mhz!

so weird

I would check afterburner settings that voltage is unlocked, other than that I tend to think an ill fitting waterblock possibly shorting on card somewhere?u

Could it be that Lightning requires (org) aircooler fan header to be connected to get it work with watercooling?

Im with stupid^^^^
If i runs on air then craps on water block something is wrong with the block. It putting too much pressure on something or shorting out something. Long process to find the exact point but Id start by making sure the block is flat. I tried a Lotan block on my strix and the block was warped. Sent that puppy back. I never even ran water through it. I always do a test assembly and check the die for TIM spread and the thermal pads for even indentations from the VRMS and other components. My sample had like 4 of 16 mosfets actually making indentations. If you arent making good contact it could be thermal issues or just short from a metal shard you cant see.

I know the feeling, just went though this with my Strix card and two blocks ill not buy again is a bitspower or Barrow. I wasnt looking to go cheap, just looking for a block as both EK and Watercool are late to the party. EK just starting shipping theirs and Watercool has yet to start shipping. Card was released in October and 5 months later.....really?
