Just ordered my EVGA GeForce RTX 2060 XC Ultra

Howdy all,

I am very happy about this card as I will be coming from a 1050 FTW and I couldn't justify the 2070's price (not that this card is the best either, but it has a semi unique feature set I desire)

We will see how the EVGA RTX 2060 XC Ultra pairs with a (every man style rig) Ryzen 1600 @ 3.5ghz ,16GB Ram 2800mhz, and typical 3d nand ssd. I am slightly salty that it does not have a back plate like other cards.
I plan on going 100-125Mhz over on the core out of the box to compete with base 2070 performance.

With the right now with stock RTX 2060's some people are getting 1080P 1% lows in the 62 FPS range with peaks around 80fps on BF5 settings: High Texture, Ultra everything else, RTX medium prior to dlss patch. Which dialing back to 900p might be perfect for later on supposedly free up scaling (we shall see). The other thing I will be looking into is blender render times ( pre any sort of un announced patching to use tensor cores)

Should get the card in 5-10 business days.

was using 1070ti, now bought the rtx2060 rog strix oc.
when i played bfv with 1070ti, there were some stutterings.
and then after installing 2060, i found out the stutterings were getting worse.

turns out the stutterings in bfv were causing by my ram (and mobo?). after disabling the xmp profile back to 2133, the stutterings in bfv are almost gone.
i dont know whether it is related to vram size too. 2060 has 6g only.

anyways, 20c room temp, 1500rpm, 53c gpu temp (replaced stock thermal paste with phanteks PH-NDC), impressive cooling on strix oc.

Ya that strix is a beast, shame it costs so much or i would have considered it.

As for your stutter thats pretty weird, ive never had an issue with xmp like that.

Just got the 2060 founders installed, what a pretty card

So far only played WoW, max temps of 65c so far. Once i load up destiny 2 im sure ill get into the low 70's but its pretty quiet.

Edit: Whoa hwinfo is reporting max boost clock of 1950 i havent touched evga precision yet, is that normal for a founders card?

Update, after playing OW for an hour i saw 78c which is higher than i expected but no thermal throttling occured, pegged right at 1875mhz with zero tuning of the card.

Fans are still quiet at 2k rpm, i may play with them a bit as i have a fan running in my room anyways and its louder than anything in my pc lol.

I have never seen a GPU respond to tweaking fan curves so well.

Stock fan curve no OC:
79c max temps

Tweaked fan curve and OC (+400 rpm across the curve is all):
72c max temps

It might hit 73 or 74 after a prolonged period but man i didnt believe such a small rpm change would make that much difference.

BTW evga OC scanner gave my core +159mhz, under load its between 1980-2010mhz.
