A reverse image search doesn't turn up it being a stolen image from someone else, but they claim it was an ex-mining card and in their picture there's only one card in the system and it's in a Z-series Asus motherboard. what kind of mining farm uses one high-ish end motherboard per GPU?

if you paid with PayPal, at least you're covered if you get nothing/get something that isn't a 1080 Ti.

This is gonna be a super dumb question, but what does reverse image search mean?

Oh and yes I made sure to pay it with my PayPal account

Take an image and plugging into Google for image search....it’s will show you how many times it’s been used....

As for that auction, it’s will most likely be a scam and get shut down soon. Been through a few of those the last few months.

It was a scam. I got an email about the order being cancelled this morning. Went to the buyers profile and it says profile is not a registered user and while he had 1 positive feedback yesterday, he now has -7 with a bunch of people saying he cancelled their order

I told you, lol....it’s a big scam on eBay lately. They always seem to use an account with high positive feedbacks and some what long standing it seems. But if you check the sellers profile and past items sold then look at current items being sold and it’s shipping location, they never match. Always seeing UK sellers listing items too cheap shipping in the US like from NY.

!!!!!!!!! I'm not a buttface

Yep, looks like the refunds are being doled out now. This guy was trying to run one of those dumb old ebay loan scams IMO but didn't realize they can't access the money for 21 days without the buyers complaining.

Quote borrowed from hardforum user, a response from the seller:
Quote:
Hi, actually problem was that eBay repost my graphic cards like item unlimited, I well accept it and I sent email to ASUS is the most cheaper GTX 1080 ti.. budget was fine and I order 10 pallets, but I discover that PayPal holding forever until item is not arrived. I just realize that is not possible for me to pay 73.000USD in advance and I just cancel it.

I suggest you to send email to ASUS if you have 120 or more order. They trading less than 230USD per unit.

Regards.
see if you can make sense out of that.. derp

well, it's gone now so... most likely.

It's not an impossible price, just an impossible price for it to be a legit ebay auction

They're still hanging for $450-600(with block)

this has been rampant on ebay, day in and day out, for over a year now.

at least they're starting to use more reasonable prices. They were originally aiming for some magical 666 yen, which was like $130 USD or something.

A lot of the times scams like this are to get your information, not necessarily your money. Also, I get money from ebay sales almost immediately (not 21 days later); I used to have to wait, but no longer have to (I have ~30 sales since the life of the study, FWIW).

Pretty sure sellers get access to name, email, address, phone number, etc. Make sure to keep an eye on your paypal transactions.
