I got mine from siliconlottery since I wanted to build a PC several years ago and didn't want to play the guessing game whether or not the chip I got had the ability to go up to 4.4ghz(and probably requires very high voltage) or bad IMC that needed a lot of tweaking to get ram stable at 3200mhz. From what I lurked in the broadwell-e thread a while back most 6900Ks hits their oc limits around 4.2ghz. Overall I'm pretty glad I made the investment since lately intel hasn't really been releasing any new architectures and the last 3 generations are still based off of skylake but with added cores.

Yeah and everybody was right, where I didn't need to worry. I mean, that CPU is a beast for me in Pro Tools and Cubase and I just benchmarked the futuremark Raytracing Port Royale and I've made 9180 points which is just as much as another person with their 9900k overclocked to 5 GHz so I'm pretty happy that I'm not seeing a bottleneck because I see benchmarks from others with their 8700k, which is actually a great Gaming CPU and they get around 7900 points.

lol, you're looking at stock 9900K results. stock 9900K shows 5.0 on 3DMark results page because that's the SINGLE CORE turbo speed. stock all core clock on a 9990K is 4.7.

2080 Ti + 9900K @ 5.0 all core = 10418

Intel i9 9900K Coffee Lake @ X8 5309mhz (+47.5%)
AMD FX-8320 Vishera @ X4 5022mhz (+43.5%)
Intel i5 4690K Haswell @ X4 5013mhz (+43.2%)
AMD X4 960T Zosma @ X6 4870mhz (+62.3%)
Intel i7 6700 Skylake @ X4 4709mhz (+38.5%)
Intel i5 6400 Skylake @ X4 4588mhz (+69.9%)

Oh alright, well still getting a better performance on my system than the 8700, which I bought for work, is still very satisfying

Plus getting the same performance as the 9900k with stock 4.7 GHz on my 4 GHz OC is still pretty nice.
