Either wait ~2 weeks and buy a 2080 Super for the same price or buy a 2080 non-Super for less $$.

I wouldn't buy a (near) flagship GPU with only 8GB of vRAM at all though, IMO.

Intel i9 9900K Coffee Lake @ X8 5309mhz (+47.5%)
AMD FX-8320 Vishera @ X4 5022mhz (+43.5%)
Intel i5 4690K Haswell @ X4 5013mhz (+43.2%)
AMD X4 960T Zosma @ X6 4870mhz (+62.3%)
Intel i7 6700 Skylake @ X4 4709mhz (+38.5%)
Intel i5 6400 Skylake @ X4 4588mhz (+69.9%)

By all accounts its an upgrade from the straight 1080 and on par with or in some cases beats out the 1080 TI.

Whether its ENOUGH of an upgrade to justify the price is another question.

You do, of course pick up ray tracing and DLSS which, despite the bad initial press, are now quite well sorted in the one or two games that currently provide support.

I bought an RTX 2080 not that long ago to play at 4k. Honestly, I wish I would have saved a bit longer for the TI. It does pretty good in most titles, but it isn't the '4k killer card' I was hoping for. Compromises have to be made to manage 60FPS. As for the CPU, it will be more than enough. At 4k, you will be mostly GPU bound, and the CPU selection is almost arbitrary. Yes, there are several processors that might get you a few more FPS, but I would rather see you NOT upgrade your CPU and get the 2080TI instead of upgrading your CPU and only being able to afford the 2080.

BTW, dont expect 60FPS in metro with RTX stuff enabled on the 2080, not even at 1080p.
