2nd card in an SLI config doing working for some reason.

Hey guys.

Sometimes when im playing a game that i know FOR SURE doesn't support SLI, the 2nd GPU will do work at about 15-20%
while the main GPU will be at around 80%.

Why does the 2nd GPU work at all in NON SLI supported games?

Does the 2nd GPU help by doing physX ? or something else like that?

Also when playing SLI games, usually both GPU's will be at about the same load. Lets say GPU 1 is at 80% then GPU 2 will also be around 80%.

Thanks

On my second card you'll see spikes here and there but will sit at 0% using MSI Afterburner. My main card will sit at 100%. Looks like the workload is getting cut between the two cards rather then the one?! Most likely driver related. Check with another utility like MSI AB if you're not using that one to double check.

Haven't used Nvidia for a long time, but maybe in the Nvidia Control Center there might be a check mark to enable Physx on a second card that is checked!

by default physx is being handled by second card, so thats my theory, its default behavior for sli, that u have physx set up to be rendered on second card.
