Good to know, may downgrade to a 5700 or something (sell the 1080ti; save up for whenever proper hdmi 2.1 GPUs comeout (or DP 2.0)).

RTX cards in general have better DX12 performance than the 10 series. (Forza horizon 4 seems to be one of the few outliers) So they're of course a little more future proof than a 1080ti.(even though higher vram)

Ray tracing in general seems to be a good thing for slower paced games like tomb raider, but in fast paced shooters I'm not appreciating the shadows as I'm busy trying to find enemies vs looking at the scenery.

Tend to agree on the sell both and get the new king of the hill RTX 2080Ti but as stated before the price is ridiculous. We need to vote with our wallets and show them were not playing that game.

SOTTR with RT on looks like SOTTR with RT off except fps is halved, lol Metro looks a bit nicer with RT on but certainly not the amount of visual improvement to warrant the hit in performance!

I'm waiting till late 2021, at the least to adopt RTX.

I'm waiting on the post console flood of hdmi2.1 stuff first.

R.I.P. Zawarudo, may you OC angels' wings in heaven.
If something appears too good to be true, it probably is.

I think this is where I am at right now. Sell pretty much everything 'high' end I own and ride out the cheaper stuff until like you said, HDMI 2.1 stuff is more prevalent.

Spoiler!
