2 GPUS without NVLink help.

Long story short, thought my 2080 died from water, went and bought a 2080ti Waterforce Xtreme.
I have now got the 2080 running in the 2nd PCI-E slot with stock cooler but need to benchmark it to see if it won't crash under load.
Is this possible?
Thanks guys.

I like to have fun.

Incase somebody comes across this question via google search.
Go Into Nvidia Settings
Set up Multiple Displays
Turn on the Graphics card(Displays) you want to use
Untick the Primary Graphics Card.

It is my understanding unless the way SLI works has changed, is that you do not need the NV-Link or SLI bridge for SLI to work. The link allows the GPUs to communicate directly instead of going through the PCIe bus, but in the absence of an NV-Link the GPUs will just use the PCIe to communicate with eachother and there may be a very minor performance loss without it in some cases but it is not needed to run SLI.

That is what i thought was true but i have learned just recently( past day) you cannot run 2 cards in parallel doing the same task without a NVLink/ SLI bridge. They can do seperate tasks but cannot work together
I have ordered an NVLink anyway now as the card is 100% functioning.

SLI refers to gaming. You for sure cannot use more than one non-identical Nvidia GPU for gaming unless you just want to use one card for PhysX... which is basically dead now' days. a 2080 and 2080 Ti will not work together for gaming.
