Hi so I have a 2080 (says it's an MSI Gaming X Trio) that regularly goes up to 80 Celsius+ in any sort of demanding game. I am wondering if anyone knows of a way to cool it for ~$150 Canadian? The case size is a restricting factor and I only have about 51mm below the GPU (pic below). Thank you.

Have you tried removing the pci brackets and leaving them off? It allows air to more freely exit the case and made a small but helpful improvement on my last build.

You could also look into fitting larger and or better flowing fans like the Arctic Cooling F14 PWM for your intake.

vertically if space allows

https://www.amazon.ca/s?k=16X+Riser+Card+Cooler+Stand

slot coolers and other solutions

https://www.newegg.ca/p/pl?d=gpu+cooler

lite installs keeping things minimal on mine, haven't seen over 70c pushing my tiny card

(can rename Nvidia installer from .exe to .7z, and open with Bandizip to remove bloat, or..)

Nvslimmer (edit; Nvidia drivers have a DCH version, works best with this)

You can buy a new case for less than half your budget.

Alternatively, undervolt your GPU and set a custom fan curve. Costs $0 and will lower temps.

I'd ditch the hard drive cage and mount the disk to the underside of the optical drive cage or flat to the bottom, that should get some more fresh air to the card.

You could probably add an AIO and stay within your budget if you want to really cool it instead of just improving the temps a little bit.

Out of curiosity, have you adjusted the fan profiles? The factory cards will sit in the 80's unless you tell it to keep it cooler than that.

Agree!

Change the case also with more intake fan options! Even better to find a case where you can vertically mount the gpu! Doable for 150!
