Underperforming Zotac 1080ti

I just picked up a refurb Zotac 1080ti, it seems to be under performing pretty significantly.

https://www.3dmark.com/3dm/41716275
I'd expect at least 28k graphics score.

https://www.3dmark.com/fs/15069443
Here is my old 1080 with a moderate overclock. Stock is around 22k I think. CPU clocks were also a bit higher, but I wouldn't expect it to make that much of a difference.

Temps stay under 60c with the fans maxed, average boost seems to be around 1800-1950mhz. Any ideas?

Looks right for a 1080ti at 1900mhz vs a 1080 at 2100mhz.

Doesn't seem right to me, it should perform at least as well as a reference right?

This comes up pretty often with the 1080Ti, google around for 1080Ti low firestrike scores and you'll see.

I know for sure a 1080Ti at 1950 core will break 29000 graphics score from the one I got to play with, that was a couple years ago.. So your result seems a tad low to me too. Somebody here should run a stock bench on the current driver and compare with you so we can see..

I have both a 1080 Ti and a 2070 SUPER.

I got a similar score with my 2070 SUPER, so I'm about to install my 1080 Ti and see how it does. I'll report back in a bit.

Pascal and Maxwell can run insanely high memory clocks and act/look stable when it's not, you won't always see artifacts when it's clocked too high. I can max out the memory slider in Afterburner but above +550 or so performance takes a nose dive.

Your score is low, here's mine clocked lower out-performing yours for those that are saying it isn't[/URL]. The CPU does matter for the graphics tests but it shouldn't make that much of a difference.

I was looking at your 1080 result, nevermind. I'm dumb.

Assuming you did the DDU dance and your OS install isn't a mess then I'd check how performance is in an actual game before getting too worked up over it though, 3DMark can be finicky for no reason. If you use Afterburner, make sure the OSD is turned off too because that causes a ton of headaches too.

Figured it out, somehow in the nVidia settings Power Management mode got set to Optimal Power, maybe due to a driver update.

It's now set to Maximum Performance and this is more what I was expecting:
https://www.3dmark.com/3dm/41718824

Now hitting 65c on max (very loud) fan so not much headroom but I imagine the VRM is getting much hotter as one would expect on these Zotac cards.

If the GPU lasts the 90 days I'll probably slap the Accelero III I have from an old card on it and maybe something better for the VRM.

Thanks for the replies and ideas.

FYI that is my old 1080 result you've compared there not the TI, but you're right the TI was underperforming.
