I just got a new XFX 8600 GT XXX Graphics Card and I am getting dissapointing results when playing games. Like Crysis, every review i seen on this card says it can play med to high settings, but i can barely play it at low-med. I dont know that much about this stuff, but i have only 1 GB of RAM that i am guessing is hurting performance. Am i right, or is it something else?

Here are the specs i know:
Intel Pentium D 3.22 Ghz
1GB RAM
200GB HD
XFX 8600GT

The 8600GT is great for it's price, but it most defiantly won't play Crysis on high settings, those settings are about right for that card. The 8600GT isn't really a hardcore gamer's card, it's more for us light gamers who would like DX10 compatibility at a reasonable price with great performance for all those older games.

Would putting another gig of RAM help improve performance on the games? I have vista ultimate and im guessing that its probably using all off the 1GB of ram i have now.

Overclock your 8600GT and Pentium D as much as you can.
