On newegg: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814150276 That is what I bought from Tiger Direct.

Question 1:
Is there anyway to change out the fan? Its not terribly loud, but, now I can't sleep with my PC on. (not a problem, as I will save energy...)

Question 2:
there is an "overclocked" edition, but, can't I do that myself? Why did they bother, or is there something different about it? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814150295

Well, you can overclocking.. but sometimes pre-oced cards overclock just a tiny bit more.

About the fan, ive heard that XFX 8800gs fan can't be controlled.
You can use rivatuner and try to do so..

If you can't, i suggest buying two aftermarket coolers like the VF700(if you don't mind 65c load) v900/duorb.

I just picked up one of these from Tiger too. Iam already debating about switching the fan. They are loud, and seem to be running at 100%. I also tried riva tuner and no dice. Still was a great deal! I do see aftermarket cooling in my future. They also overclock decently.

i believe XFX has a resistor or some sort of extra that will lower the fan speed... it is running at 100%, and thats why its loud...

XFX will send you a resistor for free to quiet down your fan.

I put a Duorob on my HD4850, you could do the same to your 8800, IMO its pretty quiet

Yeah, i was going to buy evga 8800gs. i decided not to because i found a 8800gt for the same price with a dead stock fan.

In my need for a cooler.. and the vf700 will work.

It wont cool like it's big brother vf900 but aslong as it cools it and wont pass 70c, im good.
As 8800gt is a "hotter" card that the 8800gs, as the 8800gt w/vf700 can have Idle 41c/Load 65c im pretty sure you can use one on the 8800gs/9600gso.

and you can find one or $15-20 shipped.
