I need to get another GTX280 for my SLI setup but the only one that I can find is one from Galaxy. Are they quality NVidia reference cards or are they custom designed ones, with cheap a$$ memory modules, bad components, overheating problems and no chance of overclocking ?

-----

I could not find anything with Google so your experince and PICS will be very useful

Galaxy is a Chinese brand I believe and I happen to have a 285 made by them, it is a reference card that can clock to 720 core with stock everything. So far no problems so

Canon 550D | EF 70-200 f/2.8L II | EF-S 17-55 f/2.8 | EF-S 10-22 f/3.5-4.5

well USFORCES If it can't do at least 715/1533/1350 (C/S/M ) it's of no use to me, I may be better to just buy a used ASUS one.

Enthusiast so the 285 is trustworthy but does anybody know about the 280, it does not have to be as refined as EVGA, lower quality parts will do but I want it to have the referance cooling and blueprint so I can flash it with other bios with no fear of FUBARing it. As I said if it does 715/1533/1350 it will be acceptable.

No one here can tell you if the card will do any OC. Every card overclocks differently, be it EVGA or Sparkle.

Its all luck of the draw. Mostly what you get with companies like EVGA or ASUS is warranty and customer care, hence why they tend to be more expensive.

Galaxy is not a bad brand. I think they're a lot more reputed in Asia and Europe, kinda like the XFX of Asia.

That's true, but if anybody here owns one please post some results.

This is what got me worried http://forums.slizone.com/lofiversio...hp?t23062.html

that is not reference design

---

No answers is a form of answer, Galaxy is shady and most likely non reference, I'm going to look for an used ASUS one.

I guess silence is a good answer, I will go for a used asus one, I;m not trusting Galaxy, those are most likely non reference.
