Nvidia's cheapest DirectX 11 graphics processor may not stay on store shelves much longer. The folks at Kitguru have learned from Taiwanese sources that Nvidia has stopped taking orders for the GeForce GTX 470, perhaps to make way for that upcoming GeForce GTX 465 we've been hearing about.

Your kidding right? From what I've seen from benchmarks the GTX 465 does not perform close to the 470.

Not bad... what 2months on the market.
Glad I've not got on the Fermi cards yet as a 470 would have been my choice of card.

I work for QuadHost Ltd. - However any content here are my own views and not that of my employer.

If this is a true, I suspect that when they actually do get discontinued, they'd become one hell of a collector's item.

Still doubt it though. :/

Impossible. How will they fill the gap? The 465 is weak and the 480 is strong, but expensive and HOT.

Who cares? Those of us that already got a 470 can rejoice and the others can just get a cheaper(hopefully) 465. The 465 is slower, but it should still handle any game that you throw at it.

I have a big bang house. I had all the materials for my new house brought in and dumped on a vacant lot. I took a stick of dynamite, lit the fuse on fire and tossed it into the pile of materials. BOOM went the explosion and when the dust settled I had a new house! Amazing isn't it?

This sucks for all those 470 users who were planning on going with SLI down the road.

Getting back into PCs after almost a 10-year break...

Ewww... I did not even think of that. But I never even consider running dual cards an option... so.
