Uh, that's your answer... of course AMD will tell you it's a new architecture.

Well you guys will know in a week, but my statement stands.

Wow, a fanboy that is also a vendor rep for a company that makes both AMD and nVidia graphics cards... Weird.

Fanboy? Go back and read what I wrote.

I am merely stating it is NOT a new architecture. Tweaks and improvements to Cypress? Yes. New architecture? No.

There's no way nvidia will release a new series of cards this year when the GTX 4xx series just came out...if anything, I'd expect a 512SP fermi, a die shrink, or a dual gpu card to compete with the 6xxx series (or a combination of some of those), fermis already faster than radeon 5000, and i doubt the 6000 series will be too much faster, so nvidia doesnt have to do anything too radical to keep up. I doubt there will be a real next gen gpu from nvidia until well in to next year, at the earliest.

I agree with that statement, but you also seem to want nVidia's cards to do better... If I believe that this 580 rumor is true, then why can't I also believe that the 6k series is made of 100% pure rainbow oil and that it can fly? They're both about as plausible...

If any thing this is the beginning of the GTX 485.

Its not the 580..

Any ways 512 cores really isnt much of a difference.

How did you come to that conclusion? I merely stated this "rumor" isn't entirely false/fake, and that I am stating that Barts Pro/XT isn't a completely new architecture.

I'll leave you guys to speculate on the rest of the products if my input is viewed as fanboyism or misleading.
