So I've been adjusting the CPU OC today and got a stable OC on my i5 2500k at 4.5GHz @ 1.28v. After 2 hours prime95 on small, intel burn test 30 passes, super PI 32M, and wPrime, it all came back completely stable.
Now my Radeon card is throwing me for a loop and it's starting to irritate me. So it's stock settings are GPU Clock 920 and Memory Clock 1250. after running slow increments, I've managed to get it stable at GPU Clock 1175 and Memory Clock 1425 @ 1.225v. 3D Mark11 on Performance passed with a score of P7649 and Furmark's 1080p burn in and benchmark both passed with no stuttering or issues with an average 35FPS.
But what's really getting me is that whenever I run any game, locks up forcing me to hard reset the PC. I've tried lower the clocks, gradually, and the longest run I've made so far is GPU clock 1100 and memory clock 1350 still at 1.225v using Sapphire Trixx. Even then, while running Crysis2 at 1080p and Extreme quality, it'll go for about an hour averaging 31FPS (using FRAPS) and will still lock the PC.
I tried one last time lowering the OC to GPU clock 1050 and memory clock 1300 using Catalyst and still, it locks. Even faster than with a higher clock. On stock though? I left Skyrim with a bunch of HD mods running for 5 days straight, no issues. Played Crysis for 7 hours without break, and all around experience no issues.
Anyone have any ideas? Temps never break 78C.
