Best stress test

I recently purchased an MSI 1660ti Gaming X. It's a great card. But I figured I try to push it some. I went ahead and installed Afterburner and Kombuster. My overclock right now GPU clock 1606, memory 1875, and boost 1981. First off, is this a good overclock for this card. I have fan running at 100%, but didn't touch the core voltage slider. For further testing, which is the most accurate tool for GPU overclocking. Inside Kombuster, there are many types of stress tests. Not sure which is best to use.

OCCT. I ran it on my Evga 2080 Ti FTW3 ultra with the 2000w bios and it launched the voltages to 900watts+. Scary.

Are you sure the reading is correct on that bios?

I think so HWiNfo has been very accurate with me. On my Strix 2080 Ti the most I've seen is 650w-700w on the 1000w XOC bios (OCCT). I should buy a multimeter to really be sure.

your GPU would be dead if you pushed 900+ watts though it and it wasn't on sub-ambient cooling, lol.

software reading of power consumption is hilariously inaccurate.

That's what I thought too. And it was on stock LOL. I was just keeping an eye on the 'GPU Power' via HWiNFO and when I saw it shoot to 900w I immediately got scared and powered off the PSU. Now I 'm very curious to try it again with a multimeter just to see if it did reach that wattage or a miss reading.

get a Kill-a-Watt for ~$15 and just leave your PC hooked up to it, that's what I do.

you won't get individual component power consumption numbers but you'll get an accurate total system number.

AMD FX-8320 Vishera @ X4 5022mhz (+43.5%)

I have a 1660ti as well! My memory is maxed out on MSI afterburner to +1500mhz and my boost clock is 2100-2145mhz on the core. It's an okay overclock on your end, I just have my power limit maxed out and nothing on the core voltage slider.

The best stress test for GPU's? Everything!!! Run Kombuster, 3dMark, Superposition and stuff, all the games you play, games you don't play. Also ensure that overclocking raises your performance because you could test VRAM in a benchmark at +1000mhz and +1500mhz and get better performance at +1000mhz. There is no "accurate" tool since programs stress the GPU differently, what's stable in one program may be unstable in another.

I have Zotac GTX 1660 Ti AMP!, but using MSI GTX 1660 Ti Gaming X BIOS since it has higher Boost (1875) and has Fan-Stop feature (Zotac doesn't allow me to turn off the fan when the GPU is idling most of the times).

I'm able to push my card Core to 2.100MHz, VRAM to 7.500MHz (15GBps), UV 0.950V max. Tested with everything, OCCT/Furmark/Afterburner Test/Time Spy/Valley/A/B/C/D benchmarking/stress testing software, and even games like SotTR, Metro Exodus, ACO, FC5, heavily modded Skyrim SE, etc. They are all said my card OC is stable/normal until I load up Blender trying to render BMW scene using GPU, it's throwing CUDA Cores error, then I tried to lower the boost till 2025 and no more Blender CUDA Cores error.

Blender render test is now my #1 testing method for checking GPU OC stability.
