MSI 1080 ti ARMOR + Kraken G12

So, I've got it all put together and has dropped gaming load temps from ~70C down to ~48C.

The original 'plate' that comes on the card I have left on, as the G12 seems to fit without removing it, but there is the bank of 4 ram chips just above the GPU die itself not covered by anything.

Is any small HS or thermal pads needed for it, or will the G12 fan be able to cover that area as well? Or should the original plate be removed entirely?

I used 4 of the aluminum heat sinks that came with the artic acellero III extreme.

Here is a link with similar sinks that should work but you will need to measure the vram to get the right size...http://www.ebay.com/bhp/mini-heatsink

TBH ram chips on nvidia pascal cards are pretty ok by themselves as long as theres air going over the area. Its just the VRMs besides the gpu die that needs heavy cooling. Buy some of those mini alu or copper heat-sink/fins and stick those on if it proves insufficient.

What kind of AIO CLC are you using w/the NZXT G12?
