The 7970 is a nice bang for the buck GPU but AMD's drivers don't have the features/stability Nvidia' does.

Its a shame really. HD 7970 does not have the feature that allows me to play BF3. Gona get a GTX680.

The only reason I am considering it an option is to achieve a constant 60fps in Crysis 2, BF3, Skyrim and Metro 2033 with 4xMSAA, as well as 120fps constant in games like TF2, CSS, Left 4 Dead 2, MW3, Deus Ex:HR.

I am hoping one really overclocked 7970 will do the trick, but value wise they are not as good a deal as the GTX 680 - just that I hate the reference cooler of the GTX 680.

I'm really desperate to get this bought this week because I can get a decent amount for my 570 still, whereas the more I put it off the more it will decrease its value and I also have a few friends at the moment interested in me selling it.

sapphire 7950 CF should be abit more than a 680 2GB version. (not all some of them)

sapphire 7950 CF will be alot more expensive than a 7970 and if that 7970 is from sapphire theres a big differance.

i would go fore asus directCU II TOP edition as i have used but had a gpu problem gave them back frown.gif( before that i had sapphire 7970 CF and they had problems too anyways

the asus top card will get him 110-115 fps in BF3 canals TDM 64 player wiith stock pseeds (1000mhz core)

overclock it to a maximum of 1125 core youll get 125-130fps. SINGLE CARD ! on the same map as before. (1125 is maximum becouse of voltage lock but i hear its not very hard to unlcok but i dont know if its true or not)

ı want to ask you something

but fiest you should know

i had sapphire dual-x 7970 CF gpu or vram problem i gave them back then i got asus top edition 7970 CF had gpu chip problem gave them back now i have a 7970 dual-x brown pcb unlocked verion but i have gpu problem on that one too hahaha dont ask it has been a pain !!!

i am going to give them back should i get a

dual 7950 cards ?? (far cry 3 hasa problem so i can only use 1 card will that be enough though :S asus top 7970 single card got me 70-80 just wondering around the island and 60 when everything turjs to hell on the island. (new stock just came in)

or try my luck with the new stock (which is coming in 1-2 weeks) 7970 asus top edition ? becouse i always bought the last stock adn ended up with problems so i thik they same the worste for the last haha

game was run at :

very high

75 field of view

dx11 enabled

the asus top was overclocked to 1125 / 1600

i also want to play metro last night will that support perfect CF (BF3 is what i call perfect support of CF / SLI these days)

and some other new fps games that will come out this year do you know anything about that ??

i can deal with 7970 and not take the risk, and i think the 7950 CF will not do the job for me becouse if the game does not supoprt CF very good im screwed bro biggrin.gif and i cant play under 70*80 fps that said far cry 3 is just at the that ! keep in mind i am planning on getting a new card in 11 months (790 or 8990 maybe a single 780 / 8970)

i would get nvidia but 2GB is not enough i need 3gb680 has 4GB but itss ref. cooler and i cant overclock like the 7970 or can i ? anyways that ref. model i wont get so forget nvidia
