RTX 2080 Higher core clocks but lower benchmarking scores?
I have an ROG Strix 2080 OC. Using afterburner, I typically run the card at between +95 to +115 on the core, which results in a peak of around 2115mhz, and settles around 2055mhz to 2070mhz once temps rise.
Wanting to see if I could push more out of the card, I started messing with the voltage graph in Afterburner. Using the trick of CTRL+L I locked the voltage at 1.093V. Benchmarks start at 2145mhz, and settle at 2115mhz.
All my benchmarking scores are consistently lower using the locked voltage and higher core clocks, far outside the margin of error, and I don't have any idea why this is.
No power limit is being hit
No thermal throttling
HWINFO and GPUZ show increased power consumption when applying the Locked Voltage overclock versus the normal overclock I normally use.
Any idea as to why I'm scoring lower with the higher clocks?
