Is my GPU Dying?

Is this image attached a result of my gpu dying? (See attached image). I have had this GPU since summer of 2008 when I bought it. Perhaps its time to upgrade? I hardly play games with this build, so I am contemplating on getting a cheap GPU for now. I am contemplating on getting a cheap GeForce 210, just to hold me over until I decide whether I want to play newer games in the future. Thoughts or replies anyone??

Thank you.

Maybe its your Aero disable or power policy is changed by old driver graphics. Did you try to update? You can enable Aero in Performance Options. (But its better without all the options, only one I recommend is "Smoth edges of screen fonts".

My screen shows a lot of blue wavy lines. I asked in another tech forum, and some indicated that my video card may be dying due to its age. Here's another photo, hopefully it will work on your end.

the issue which you describe doesn't appear on the screenshots.
so it sounds like a VGA connection issue, either the cable is bad or the connection is bad.

trolling an adult is very dangerous, don't try it at home nor at work. you don't want to play tag with a rabid man.

Don't think so, I tried it with different cables, switching monitors, using a different port. Same results.

try using the DVI port, its possible that the VGA port itself has gone wonky.

edit: ugh ignore that, i just noticed both ports were DVI.
in the graphics control panel theres an option "reduce DVI frequency" and "alternate DVI operational mode".
try enabling these two options to see if the issue is resolved.
