What can I upgrade to?

What can I upgrade to?
So I'm looking at dusting off my rig and slapping some upgrades on.
Basically looking to get pretty much the best out of her as I can for next couple of yr before I lay her to rest.
Running i5 2500k
16gb Corsair vengeance 1600
Msi p67a-GD53(B3).
Already flashed the bios on my mobo.
1200w psu.

So my main question is this:

Whats the best card/cards configuration I can run before I suffer from bottlenecking or any other limitations??

I have a 1070Ti paired with a 2500K in my second rig that my GF uses for 4K gaming and it works very well. What do you have your 2500K running at? Those CPUs are very easy to overclock.

16GB DDR4 3200mhz
GeForce 1080 Ti

Can only run it at 4.2 due restriction on my mobo bios.
Also not sure I can run a 10 series card with my mobo and bios. Sure I read somewhere best I could do was 9series. Hence why I was asking here as I'm not fully sure, I would prefer a 10series card if it will run and won't bottleneck.

I believe the latest bios 4.3 fixes the GPU issue.

What's the problem with Gen2x16 on this mobo?
Can't you plug in any PCIe GPU or other card and run it at Gen2x16? Such as Sapphire 5700XT Pulse?

From what I read you need latest UEFI/BIOS, as the previous ones were who knows what borked MSI mess with GPU support for some reason.
In any case, update to latest, buy a card, try it out, it works, fine, it doesn't return the card, simple as that.
I don't see why any GPU would not run even down to Gen1x1 etc. since miners are running cards over x1 slots and such all the time, cramming as many GPUs onto as least PCIe lanes as they can.

a 10 series GPU will for sure work with your motherboard. There are no situations where a GPU can be too old to work so long as it fits in the motherboard.

There are also no motherboards that support overclocking but stop you from going past 4.2. You seem to be missing something here. In anycase, a newer GPU will for sure work with a 2500K.
