Which GPU to pair with i7-3930k @ 1080p60?

Evening, fine gentlemen.
I came across a deal I couldn't refuse on an i7-3930k, Mobo and 8gb ddr3-1333. (Free!!)
I've completely fallen out of the loop as far as the best bang-for-buck mid range cards go. Last two setups I had were GTX 460 OC'd to 470, and Radion HD 6950 OC'd to 6970. Both fantastic cards in the ~$150+/-$50 range.

What would you gentlemen suggest I go with today? Slight bonus on team green for physx, but not necessary.

Currently playing: Apex Legends (XBox One)

Thanks for those suggestions - Looks right around my usual preferred price point. Used is perfectly acceptable.
Worth asking to anyone who currently folds in case I get back into it - Is team green still optimal?
Will look into this general list since they are somewhat reasonably similar neighbors in performance and make a spreadsheet of score/cost ratio.

Thank you very much kind sirs.
I ended up with a used RX580 locally for $90. Just couldn't beat that fantastic price for performance point!

Both DDR4 as well as DDR3 are dirt cheap right now. Given that your new card might have as much RAM as your system, it may be worth the investment to bump up to 16GB.

I guess it depends on what games you play. Most games I play are old and low spec, but when I play 7 Days To Die it just eats RAM. My old Haswell with 8GB just wasn't enough. You might be able to get away with adding 8GB for $30-$40.

Very good point, Kleer kut, thank you! I remember paying $38 for my 8gb ddr3-1600 g.skill sniper ram, then being depressed for years because RAM prices flew through the roof and I needed just a bit more for modded minecraft.
I will definitely take advantage of the moment!
