Fps Question

Sorry if this is a stupid question.

Does higher fps give a gamer a edge over another gamer?

If I'm plying online against someone running 240 fps and I have 90fps will the 240 fps have an advantage?

I'm not sure how cpu intensive fartnight is, but I wouldn't go with anything less than a 2070 super if you are really trying to be around 240 fps. He will also probably have to make sure settings are on medium, etc.

Why spend that much on a single game ? I understand your son wants to play Fortnite, but at this point it would be cheaper to just go with a console unit especially for just 1 game, I could understand if he is into games like COD, CS, and other FPS games. But spending 1000 bucks on 1 just a bit overkill- but you could go with a Ryzen 2700X and pair with either a Vega 56/64 I would recommend a 5700 but again overkill..

Depends on how the game was made. FPS is local only. Does the network connection respond that fast? Does the game compensate for bad aim and client/server latency like most FPS games do?

And honestly...does the person playing the game have the ability to respond fast enough for the FPS improvement? (most players...no...they arent as good as they think they are.)

I played MOHAA back in the day at 800 x 600 on a 4200Ti and ping is always the rule of law in FPS ..

Now me being Older (53) I like me some candy and DX12 maxed out in 1080p Epic everything .. So I am just learning this game and it's no different then any BF or COD to me as to who has the best Hop .

That is the system in my sig with only the video card switch on driver 20 . 5 . 1 and everything I play looks that good on a $62 Mother Board

You have to take account of tick rate of the game, look it up, I need to go to bed.
