Enthusiasts won't care whether the card is red or green, they're going to care how good it is. And cards in that price range are catered toward enthusiasts. I know that won't stop people who will never spend that kind of money on a video card from complaining about the price, but that's the market. And the market isn't going to change until we get sustained competition for multiple generations. If RDNA2 competes at the high end, RDNA3 and Hopper pricing will be very intriguing.

The market for that high end of cards is small so for every dollar that AMD undercuts Nivdia is money they are throwing away, if the 3090TI is say $1000 and AMD's is say even $800 the amount of people buying at that price isn't going to make up for the $200 less they are making on each card. Not unless it is a 30% improvement at all resolutions, and most importantly 4K

You're out of your mind if you think AMD is going to charge 20% less for that kind of performance. If they have a card that compete with a $1000 card from Nvidia, it will be no less than $900.

AMD has no reason to undercut nvidia if their card turns out competitive. If it turns out to be a dud then we can expect a massive price cut (we have seen this before in CPUs and GPUs). Maximize profits. If people are willing to fork out $1K for top tier cards, then that is what they will charge for their top tier cards.

I comprehended what you said just fine. There's no way AMD would charge that little for a competitive card so your hypothetical situation is rather weak. They also won't match Nvidia in pricing. AMD will undercut Nvidia with pricing just like they do at other price points because they need to give customers more incentive to buy their product. The only way they match Nvidia's price is if performance is better. When Nvidia dropped the price of the RTX 2060 to $300, AMD responded by pushing out a VBIOS update to get extra performance from the RX 5600 XT. Otherwise there would be no incentive for customers to consider the RX 5600 XT unless they simply don't want to go Nvidia.

no, just being able to read. comprehending what you're reading allows you to think for yourself. it's good enough to just be able to read the words, then do what they say.

they also don't seem to teach critical thinking.

I think the market will probably settle back down at some point on GPU prices, and they'll gradually get cheaper. If they don't, then I'll start building $1000 budget PCs using Ryzen 5s, and AMD GPUs instead of the usual $2000 budget PCs every few years that uses a XX80ti model GPU. Mid range GPUs will be pushing 4k/60fps within 2-3 years.

Nah, in about a few months.

there's no such thing as an xbox exclusive anymore, and sony is slowly rolling over to realize the same thing.

gonna end up with a PS5 optical. I haven't had a PS since 2.

Am 100% aiming for the PS5 optical myself. I sold my yellow light of death'd PS4 a few months into ownership and never cared much to replace it but this new gen is different.
