Valve-style storytelling at it's finest. Even if you don't prefer sci-fi this is a must play. Linear.
thanks for replying!
what kind of gameplay should I expect from this title?

2) Metro: Last Light (Although boredgunner has already recommended this I though two recommendations might help you see how good this is. )
indeed this does help smile.gif

10 years without playing games... I thought that was a lot and incredible amounts of masterpieces were around just waiting to be played; it looks like I was wrong, 'tho I am not sad 'cause I will be somehow able to get back on trails

Portal - Just consider it a blend between Puzzle/FPS with no killing & stuff. Although it's hard to describe it without spoiling since it's kinda unique. smile.gif

In that case, I might take back my recommendation about Anna. Its "puzzles" are the hardest in any game by far, some actually just seem illogical.

YES! It doesn't have the traditional puzzles, these are the puzzles you've never seen before. smile.gif

oh cool ^^ - it intrigues me how such kind of gameplay can even have a story, let alone a good one....

Sadly, they don´t make games anymore with stories as good as this gem:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Planescape:_Torment

It had one of the most deep stories, dialogues, NPCs and choices ever, in a high fantasy world (no typical elves, orcs and dragons here).

You might wanna check this out too:
http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/inxile/torment-tides-of-numenera

It´s to be released in a few years, and can´t fail if Pat Rothfuss is part of the team (if you enjoy the Kingkiller books, that is).

For starters I would really vouch for Dragon Age. If not a masterpiece, it's a really interesting story.
If you're into Rock/Metal, I'd suggest Brütal Legend. That game biggrin.gif I love it. Don't expect a truly amazing story, but I have to admit it's fun and the atmosphere is, well.. self-explanatory. A hack and slash, also the boss encounters are easy once you figure out the tactics.
A game hard enough to actually become quite memorable will be Dark Souls. But it might as well make you give up on life. biggrin.gif
As I read a comment somewhere "I'm on the tutorial and I already died 4 times." I died too redface.gif

Sadly, my recommendations in relatively new story-driven games are scarce. If I want a storyline, I play really old games. New titles just don't cut it... So I turned to MMOs.
